Starting your day with Lemon Water

Even the smallest changes in your routine can have a big impact on your health. Take starting your day with lemon water, for instance.

Drinking warm lemon water first thing in the morning on an empty stomach is thought to improve digestion, boost metabolism and helps in maintaining the Ph balance of the body. Lemon water can be actually beneficial for overall health by cleansing internal waste and removing toxins from the system.

Lemon water ingested in the morning will help cleanse your liver. Lemon juice stimulates the liver to flush out all its toxins, reviving it like never before. Lemons also contain a type of fiber called pectin, which may help reduce appetite and calorie intake.

Lemons are known to help you lose weight; thanks to the presence of vitamin C and antioxidants that promote good digestion. Vitamin C is also important for immune system function, wound healing, and helping the body absorb iron from food. Lemons are also a source of plant compounds called flavonoids, which have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects.

Antioxidants are compounds that help protect the body’s cells from damage. By reducing cell damage, antioxidants reduce the risk of many health conditions, including cardiovascular disease, diabetes, obesity, and cancer. Antioxidants do this by mopping up free radicals, which are harmful, disease-causing compounds in the body created by oxidative stress.

Citrus flavonoids also reduce inflammation in the body. Research has linked chronic inflammation with increased oxidative stress and the risk of certain health conditions, including arthritis, diabetes, autoimmune conditions, and cancer.

Lemons also have diuretic properties, which help in detoxifying the body, thereby helping burning fat. According to experts, this magic potion can boost the body’s metabolism to a great extent.

How to enjoy lemon water
Simply squeeze half of a lemon into a glass of water. How much? When? It really doesn’t matter. Any way you do it, it’s a big plus for your health.

For an added kick add some cloves and cardamom. Not only will it give a boost of flavor but they will boost the antioxidant properties and aid in digestion. A win-win if you ask me!

Don’t forget the peel
Capture the rich nutrients by zesting your lemon and using in baking or cooking.

Will it hurt my teeth?
Theoretically, lemon acid can be harmful to your enamel, but you’re diluting it here. As long as you don’t make a habit of sucking on lemons all the time, you should be fine.

Fresh Air and your Health

Do you remember the joyful “high” we got as kids after an afternoon of playing outdoors?  Well, there is a scientific reason for that. Oxygen plays a role in our health and well-being.  And in times we are facing right now with a pandemic affecting the entire world – outdoor activities are increasingly more important than ever. Outdoor exercise offers an alternative to gyms — which are likely closed during times of social distancing! Regardless of the time of year, we should always take more advantage of the outdoors. Numerous outdoor activities give you more choices for enjoyable exercise, which is likely to keep you motivated.

The following are some highlights of the benefits we get from getting outside for some fresh air:

It Improves the Immune System

There’s no doubt that fresh air is good for you, and for most people, that is quite a literal statement. By increasing the amount of fresh air we get, will increase the amount of oxygen which helps our white blood cells function properly by fighting and killing bacteria and germs.

Those who get outside and breathe fresh (clean) air on a regular basis have been shown to have stronger immune systems than those who stay indoors. This means less illness overall, as your body has an easier time fighting off germs before they invade and take over. If you want to keep yourself well, make it a point to get outside and breathe deep. Not only will you feel better, but you may boost your health for a lifetime. Make some time in your life to get outside and breathe the freshness. Your body and your mind will thank you in the long run.

Fresh oxygen energizes.
Back away from the energy drink. Research shows that spending time in fresh air, surrounded by nature, increases energy in 90 percent of people. “Nature is fuel for the soul, ” Richard Ryan, researcher and professor of psychology at the University of Rochester, tells the University of Rochester. “Often when we feel depleted we reach for a cup of coffee, but research suggests a better way to get energized is to connect with nature.”

Fresh air is useful for processing

Fresh air causes you to process sustenance all the more viably. That is the reason it’s incredible to go for a little stroll outside after you eat. From all the medical advantages of fresh air, this one is extremely significant in the event that you are attempting to get in shape.

Fresh air is good for your digestive system

Fresh air increases the flow of oxygen helping you digest food more effectively so this will particularly help if you are trying to lose weight.

Fresh air makes you happier

The more fresh air you get, the more oxygen you will breathe which will increase the amount of serotonin (the happy hormone) you inhale. Serotonin can fundamentally help your state of mind and advance a feeling of satisfaction and prosperity. Fresh air will leave you feeling increasingly revived and loose.

Fresh air cleans your lungs

Your lungs dilate more from having an increase of oxygen so fresh air improves the cleansing of your lungs. You release airborne toxins from your body when exhaling through your lungs.

Fresh air gives you more energy and a sharper mind

You may have noticed after spending time outside, you come back indoors feeling brighter and perhaps ready to get back to work. More oxygen results in greater brain functioning, improving your concentration skills and providing you with more energy. There is a “positive impact of being outdoors and around natural elements on subjective vitality, above and beyond the effects of physical activities or social interactions that can take place in natural settings,” adds researcher Richard Ryan, et al.

In addition, venturing outside will also help you produce vitamin D from the sun, which is essential for many bodily functions including supporting our immune system, strengthening our bones, teeth and much more.

RAISING YOUR VIBRATION

In order to attract good things you have to have good thoughts.  Sound too simple?

In reality that all it takes.  Manifesting the things you want in your life requires focus on those very things that you desire to have in your life. The universe responds to frequency. It doesn’t recognize your personal desires, wants or needs. The only language it understands is the frequency that you are vibrating in.

If you are vibrating a frequency of fear or doubt, you will undeniably attract things of that nature into your life to support that frequency.  Instead use that same energy to believe in yourself and feed the possibilities of what can go right. Visualize something greater into existence for yourself.

So how do you raise your vibration?  You change the way you think and you can do it in small steps:

  1. Become conscious of your thoughts as they become your reality, once you recognize negative thoughts think of how you can change that thought into a positive.  The more you do this the more positive thinking will become natural to you.
  2. Find something to be grateful for – get in the habit of finding something in your day that you are grateful for, you will begin to realize that nearly every day is a good day and positive thinking opens your eyes to more opportunities.
  3. Meditate – even if only for a minute, it gives you the time to connect with your higher power and your intuition
  4. Move around and get your blood circulating – make it a priority to do something physical every single day. Your spiritual, emotional and physical health are inextricably linked.
  5. Stay hydrated – so your body can perform at optimal levels. Even mild dehydration can impair many aspects of brain and cellular functions.
  6. Be conscious of what you eat – healthy body, healthy mind.  Feed your body the best so you can feel your best.
  7. Practice kindness and compassion – experiencing qualities of the heart, such as appreciation, compassion, deep love, kindness and care, you can reset your overall mental, emotional and physiological coherence – all of the body’s systems and lift your vibration along with the vibration of the receiver.
  8. Get enough sleep – Sleep serves to reenergize the body’s cells, clear waste from the brain, and support your learning and memory enabling your body to be conducive to perform at its highest level.
  9. BE AWARE OF THE VIBRATIONAL LEVELS OF YOUR AQUAINTANCES – the company you keep will either raise your vibrational frequency or lower it. Keep people around you who empower, celebrate and motivate you.
  10. Practice forgiveness – thoughts of revenge are low vibrational.  Forgiveness takes you out of a position of being a victim and the person who did wrong to you no longer holds any power.

So don’t worry about what currently is.  Imagine what you want it to be so that your vibrations match your desires.  Once you have synchronized your vibration to your desires, all the things in your experience will gravitate to meet you there.

Staying on track towards your goals

Sometimes it’s easy to get caught up in every day matters and lock focus on goals you have made for yourself.  Whether it’s working towards a promotion, starting a new business, or even a fitness goal, it happens to the best of us.  The drive gets lost in the shuffle of everyday life.

Well, here some tips to make things a bit more manageable so you can still tackle your daily routine AND work towards your set goals:

Start with a list, get your goals on paper – that way they become more real.  Write down everything you want to accomplish in increments – these are your “mini goals”.  Daily goals, weekly, monthly, yearly, etc.  Once you have that together just jot down a few things that you need to do that will help you accomplish that.  For example if you want to start up a fitness routine, maybe you want to start by a daily 10 min walk.  Weekly you might set up 3 days a week of cardio and so forth.  By breaking your goals down like this it makes it easier to tackle on a daily basis and not as overwhelming as your “end goal” which might for be in this example to lose 20 lbs in the course of 4 months.

By creating a checklist, you can tick off every time you hit a goal, and by tracking your progress you will feel a sense of accomplishment that leads to adhesion to your plan.  You will begin to see after some time that surprisingly you are actually reaching your goal and it didn’t take much more than a few minor adjustments to make it happen!

I believe in you!!
